MVP from The Walking Dead episode 1017 ‘Home Sweet Home’

The Walking Dead is finally back with the beginning of the bonus 6 episodes of season 10. This episode titled ‘Home Sweet Home’ is mainly focused on Maggie. Viewers learn where she has been and what her life has been like since she left Hilltop. Fans also get introduced to her new friends and the people that are hunting them down. This mysterious bad group is called the Reapers.

While this episode does give a large focus to Maggie, she is in a vulnerable state. She loses several of her friends and has to hunt down where Hershel Jr is, fearing he could also be lost. She even has to face the person who brutally murdered her husband, Glenn, in front of her. While dealing with all of these struggles, it’s clear that she gained a strong family who has become integral to her life and making her this hardened.

This week’s MVP is Cole!

While it’s clear that Maggie is back and stronger than ever, Cole is MVP for the massive support he gave her in this episode. While Maggie listened to Carol and tried to process the facts she was told, Cole was not about to hold back. It takes a brave person to stand up to people they barely know for a friend, and yet he did not hesitate. He made valid points and stood strong beside Maggie at every point, wanting nothing but the best for her and Hershel Jr.

The two honorable mentions this week are Kelly and Elijah. Elijah is a character who, much like Cole, would come to Maggie’s side no matter what, and that is very admirable. Obviously, he is a fighter and would take down a herd of walkers if it meant he could save his friends. In this episode, it is mentioned that he recently lost his sister and that all of these events have greatly affected him.

The bonus 6 episodes of The Walking Dead season 10 are finally here. One character went above and beyond to secure the MVP crown in the first episode back.

During the scene when Elijah began to panic, Kelly was there to calm his nerves. Kelly was just put through a massive war and lost Connie in the process, so it’s evident these two are kindred spirits. Kelly is also desperately searching for her sister, and while she did ditch her designated post, characters and fans alike understand why. Elijah and Kelly only fell short of MVP because of Cole’s outspoken nature. Welcome to the family Cole, wear your crown proud!
