By Renee Hansen
Garret Dillahunt isn’t wasting time signing on to new projects. In May, we will see him once again battle zombies in Zach Snyder’s Army of the Dead film, he will also star in Michael Bay’s action thriller Ambulance and now Deadline reports that he has been cast in Where the Crawdad’s Sing.
This film is an adaptation of Delia Owens’ New York best-selling novel that follows a young girl, Kya (Daisy Edgar-Jones), who lives in the coastal town of Barkley Cove, North Carolina. She lives secluded in a cabin and is a source of interest in the community. When a young man gets murdered, all eyes turn to Kya as the main suspect.
The film is being produced by Reese Witherspoon, who has done very well with her book to movie adaptations of Wild, Gone Girl, Big Little Lies, and Little Fires Everywhere. When Witherspoon featured this book in her Reese’s Book Club, it was assumed that this would also be made into a film.
