Andrew Lincoln to reunite with fellow Love Actually cast members
By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead’s Andrew Lincoln will take part in the Life in Stages event put on by the National Theatre. This event will be featured on National Theatre’s YouTube Channel on May 13 at 7 pm UK time (2 pm EST).
Many people remember Lincoln’s iconic character, Mark, in the movie Love Actually. There have been many memes made of Mark’s poster board conversation with Juliet (Keira Knightly). It was a touching moment, or perhaps a bit stalkerish and unloyal to his best friend Peter (Chiwetel Ejiofor), when Mark showed up at the home of Juliet and Mark and confessed his love for her.
Now, Lincoln will reunite with Ejiofor, and they will be joined by fellow Love Actually actor Bill Nighy, who played Billy Mack, the washed-up pop star who tries to re-enter the world of music. The trio will be featured in the interview for Life in Stages, as these interviews profile some of the biggest names in British Theatre.
Lincoln, Ejiofor and Nighy starred in a production of Blue/Orange at the theatre in 2000, three years before they all starred in Love Actually.
Is there any other new news regarding Andrew Lincoln and The Walking Dead movies?
NO! That is the quick and dirty answer. And, I am not bitter about this at all. That is a lie.
Any news regarding The Walking Dead movies that will mark the return of Rick Grimes seems to weigh on the fact the Lincoln is unable to travel to the US from the UK. Lincoln has stated this in interviews and also shares his excitement to don Rick Grimes boots once again.
There has been much speculation about whether or not Lincoln will return for the final season of The Walking Dead series. The show is currently filming its final season that won’t wrap until March 2022, so, again, depending on travel, perhaps we will get to the series end with a Rick Grimes appearance.
Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead and the wildly popular Invincible animated series, has said he would also like to add Lincoln’s voice and those of other TWD cast members to that series. Invincible features voice work by many other Walking Dead actors, including Steven Yeun, Khary Payton, Lauren Cohan, Chad Coleman, Michael Cudlitz, Lennie James, Ross Marquand and Sonequa Martin-Green. It would be very cool to hear Lincoln’s voice added; I wonder if it would be his English accent or Rick Grimes accent?
Most recently, Lincoln starred with Naomi Watts in Penguin Bloom and a production of A Christmas Carol, where he played Ebenezer Scrooge.
Well, if we can’t see Rick Grimes, at least you can tune into National Theatres YouTube page for his Life in Stages interview on May 13.
