Norman Reedus’ production company bigbaldhead is teaming with AMC to produce a revamped series from the cult classic Faster Pussycat, Kill! Kill!  The original director Russ Meyer’s estate, has given its full support for the project. Deadline was the first to share the news.

The original film followed three go-go girls and their adventures driving their sports cars across the California desert. During their exploits, they encounter a couple and kill the boyfriend and take the girlfriend hostage. They also swindle a misogynist old man and his muscular but simple son out of their fortune.

The film received much criticism for its violence and provocative gender roles but has since become an influential film. The direct Russ Meyer was known for his campy sexploitation films. The new version will honor the original and focus on strong female characters and breaking away from the cultural norms of the film.

Last year Reedus signed a first development deal with AMC, and they will be partnering up for many new projects. This is no surprise given Reedus’ history with AMC.

bigbaldhead and AMC will adapt the book “Neglected Murderesses” by Edward Gorey into a live-action series. JoAnne Colona and Amanda Verdon, both from bigbaldhead, will produce this series with Reedus. Based on a group of female killers who possess unique skills to end their victims. Gorey’s estate has never allowed any of his works to be adapted, until now. They have pledged all profits from this series will benefit The Elephant Sanctuary and The National Marine Life Center, and other organizations that protect animals.

Reedus has lined up a TV series adaptation of Aftershock Comics Undone By Blood in which he will star and ex. produce. He will partner with Utopia Originals and Shout! Studios as they adapt the cult horror film Sorority House Massacre into a series.

It is exciting to see all of the projects that Reedus and AMC have lined up.
