The Walking Dead: World Beyond actresses Alexa Mansour and Aliyah Royale received Gracie Awards for their performances in the series. The limited series is a spin-off of The Walking Dead that follows a group of young adults who have grown up behind city walls during the apocalypse.
World Beyond is a coming-of-age series where the youths must learn to defend themselves from the undead instead of learning about adulthood. Deadline has reported that Mansour and Royale, who play sisters Hope and Iris respectively, have received Gracie Awards for their portrayal of the sisters.
The Gracie Awards were established by the Alliance for Women in Media in 1975 and are named after the iconic vaudeville actress Gracie Allen. These awards are bestowed on women across all facets of media and entertainment.
The Walking Dead World Beyond, what we know about season 2
The second season of The Walking Dead: World Beyond is supposed to release sometime in 2021. The final season will consist of 10 episodes and will see the return of Mansour, Royale, Nico Tortorella, Annet Mahendru, Nicolas Cantu, Hal Cumpston and Julia Ormond.
Additionally, a new cast member, Max Osinski, will join the series and Robert Palmer Watkins will now have a recurring role. Watkins was previously seen in one episode of season one where he played Lieutenant Frank Newton.
This series was designed as a limited series with only two seasons. However, it has been said that this series could tie into The Walking Dead movies that will see the return of Rick Grimes. In the first season, we saw glimpses of evidence that the group Ormond’s character, Elizabeth Kublek, belongs to could be the ones who stole Grimes away in the helicopter.
It will be exciting to see where World Beyond’s story goes in the second season.
Once again, Congratulations to Alexa Mansour & Aliyah Royale for their Gracie Awards in the
Actress in a Breakthrough Role – Drama category.
