AMC has released four photos for the upcoming eleventh season to the delight of Walking Dead fans everywhere. The promo is called “11 Weeks of Reveals until Season 11,” straightforward and to the point. All we care about is that some new content is coming, and we are ready for it.

June 17 was the release of the first reveal, and it consisted of four photos. The first photo was of a horde of walkers in a subway car. The second featured our captives, Eugene, Ezekiel, Yumiko and Princess, eating food behind some fence that looks like a holding cell. There is also a photo of a large group in a subway tunnel, but more on that one in a moment. The final photo shows a sassy photo of Carol, Kelly and Magna, who I call the Connie rescue team. Because in my mind, it will be these three strong women who find her.

Skybound has published the official synopsis for part 1 of season 11, and things sound bleak. Alexandria is struggling due to the destruction during the Whisperer war and the influx of residents since Hilltop was burned, and Maggie’s new group, the Wardens, have also joined them. Finding food for everyone is a top priority, second only to repairing the community against further attacks.

Does Maggie partner with Negan in season 11?

As I mentioned above, the third photo was of a large group in a subway tunnel. Familiar faces include Alden, Elijah, Cole, Maggie, Negan, Daryl, Dog and Father G. But, there are at least four others. One of them is C. Thomas Howell, who has previously played a Hilltop Resident in the series. But, we haven’t seen him since Stradivarius in season 9. So, do we believe these four are just random Hilltop Residents that we haven’t ever seen? I am still wondering if they are Reapers.

If you remember, the Reapers are the group who ravaged Maggie’s previous camp and killed many of those inhabitants. The man who attacked Maggie and her group in “Home Sweet Home” was thought to a Reaper. Now, what would make Maggie partner with a group that has killed people near and dear other? Desperation?

That brings up another member of the tunnel group, Negan. He is standing directly behind Maggie as they are all looking at the wall of the subway. Have things gotten so desperate that Maggie is just willing to put things aside for the greater good?

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Angela Kang has stated that there will be an interaction between Maggie and Negan coming in the final season.

"“There’s a big, important story that has to do with Maggie and Negan,” promises Kang. “And I think it should be fascinating. Those two are really, really great across from each other.”"

It has been said that season 11 is going to be HUGE. From these first looks and synopsis, it looks like this season will indeed be something special.

A fun little side note: Ethan Corby used his eagle eye to figure this out from the tunnel photo! Very cool to find these clips that have been teased to us for so long.
