A few months ago, AMC announced a new digital series called Dead in the Water.  The series would take place on a submarine, and it would be linked to season 6 of Fear the Walking Dead. At the time of the original announcement, fans didn’t know the significance of the USS Pennsylvania.

In the episode of Fear the Walking Dead, “USS Pennsylvania,” which takes its name from the vessel, viewers found out the significance of the submarine concerning Teddy’s “The Beginning is the End” theology.  Co-showrunner for FearTWD, Ian Goldberg, stated in a recent TWDUniverse Twitch segment that this series has a script and will give some history on the USS Pennsylvania.

The end of season 6 of Fear the Walking Dead left viewers with an unresolved story. How will the characters survive a nuclear blast and the after-effects it will cause? Fans have theorized there could be a time jump showing the story on the other side of the aftermath. Or could the CRM step in and help with their many resources?

Fear the Walking Dead spin-off Dead in the Water

Many people have wondered why another spin-off. This will be a digital series in the style of Flight 462, Passage and The Althea Tapes. It will be a side story to tie in with the main story and this will give insight into the people who perished on the USS Pennsylvania.

Riley (Nick Stahl) was a weapons officer on the submarine, and he and Walter were the only survivors. Walter had possession of the 2nd launch key and was hunted down and killed so Teddy and his cult could have the key to complete their plan.

Next. Fear the Walking Dead season 7 will see John Dorie Sr again?. dark

The story about why the USS Pennsylvania was beached on the coast of Galveston is still unknown. This series could tell that story and perhaps give some background on Riley and why he followed Teddy so willingly.

Fear the Walking Dead will return to AMC before the end of 2021 with season 7 episodes.
