Over the 10 seasons that The Walking Dead has been airing, we have seen many characters come and go. Sometimes there is an emotional or amazing death scene, and sometimes characters have just faded away, Kal and Eduardo from Hilltop, for example. As the series enters its eleventh and final season, there are many stories still left to tell, and that will involve the introduction of new characters.

During the many years of the series, many characters were introduced only to be killed in the same episode of their introduction. It often seems pointless to do this, but we have gotten many amazing actors inducted into TWD Family. Robert Patrick (Mays), Noah Emmerich (Dr. Edwin Jenner), Robin Lord Taylor (Sam), Rutina Wesley (Jocelyn) and many others.

Let’s look at some of the new characters who will be introduced in season 11 of The Walking Dead.  This is an incomplete list, but it is information available at this time.

The Walking Dead new characters in season 11

The eleventh season of The Walking Dead will contain 24 episodes that will be released in 3 parts, with the first part premiering on August 22 on AMC. With the new season comes new stories and new characters, some of which will have a significant role.

Michael James Shaw – Mercer – the casting of this comic book character has long been anticipated by fans of the comics. Shaw is sporting Mercer’s beard and his reveal, in character, came in a 1-minute teaser, and the fandom went wild. In the comics, Mercer is a high-ranking soldier in the Commonwealth military and plays an important role. He also has a relationship with season 10 newcomer Princess (Paola Lazaro). Only time will tell what part(s) of his comic book story will be played out in the series.

Margot Bingham – Stephanie – this comic character’s story is similar to what we have learned about her so far. In the comics, she is a radio operator for the Commonwealth and sets up a meeting with Eugene. They eventually have a romantic relationship. For Eugene’s sake, I hope his relationship with her can turn romantic; he deserves love.

Jacob Young – Deaver – little is known about this character and his role in the storyline. Young posted a couple of photos where he was garbed in black, similar to some of the characters seen in the first photo releases for the season.

Glenn Stanton – Frost – in the comics, Frost is a commonwealth soldier. In the series, the character is featured in the photo below.

Marcus Lewis – Duncan – there is no information on the role of this character. He is also featured in the photo below.

C. Thomas Howell – Hilltop Resident – we did see this character briefly in season 9, and he is a survivor of the Hilltop attack. He is seen in the photo below, and in one clip of the teaser, he looks to be injured.
