In April, The Walking Dead released the first photo for season 11 of the series. Seeing anything from the final season created excitement within the fandom.  In the Tweet below, we see Daryl Dixon with a flashlight looking in what could be a sewer tunnel. Of course, the first question was what or who is he looking for?

As we have gotten more information about what is to come in season 11, two sentences in the synopsis for 1101 “Acheron” Part II” stuck out when I remember this first look photo.

“The group discovers a member did not make it to safety inside the subway car.

“Meanwhile, Daryl is in his own intense hellish situation trying to find Dog and finding more than he expected”

While the team is on a dangerous supply run, one of them doesn’t make it to safety, and the group decides they can’t go back through the horde of walkers to save one person. During this time, Dog also goes missing, requiring Daryl to located him. So, is there someone besides Daryl that doesn’t make it to safety? There has been a lot of focus on Alden in the teasers, a character that doesn’t get much screen time. Makes a person wonder.

The Walking Dead season 11, does Daryl Dixon find Dog?

Daryl searching for Dog explains the photo, but what is the “more than he expected” mentioned?  Does Daryl come upon the Reapers during his search? The teasers have also emphasized the Reapers, and we know they are a threat to the weakened community of Alexandria. Or, does he come upon the Commonwealth opening the door to that part of the story and the fact that Eugene and his group are being held there?

This is the final season of the series; anything could happen. It seems strange to put Daryl in a situation like this and convince viewers to be concerned about him dying. We know he will be in the Daryl and Carol spin-off, ensuring his survival.
