Each day brings us closer to the season 11 premiere for The Walking Dead. This also brings to mind many of the amazing scenes that will always be remembered in the fandom. Recently we looked back at Rick’s scene in 516 “Conquer” when Reg and Pete are killed, and Morgan sees Rick again for the first time in a long while.

There are so many iconic moments that have made this series what it is. The longevity of the series is built on the cast and crew’s ability to give us quality scenes that stick with you after viewing.

Carol (Melissa McBride) is one of those characters who has produced many scenes that are quite memorable. A few that really stand out include the time she took years of pent-up emotions out on her abuser’s corpse, Sophia’s walker reveal from the barn, telling Lizzie to look at the flowers and that stare-off between her and Alpha across the ravine.

The Walking Dead, Carol Peletier blows up Terminus

Today, I will feature Carol’s amazing rescue mission at Terminus in 501 “No Sanctuary.” If you remember, Carol had been banished from the prison by Rick for killing Karen and David. The pair had come down with a mysterious illness, and to try and keep it contained, Carol took it upon herself to kill them, hoping to slow the spread of the disease.

She was on her own for a while but reconnected with Tyreese, Lizzie, Mika, and Judith after the prison’s fall. After the incident at the grove, Carol, Tyreese and Judith move on towards Terminus. They encounter a man on a walkie talking about Michonne and Carl. This is when Carol learns that many of their friends are being held captive.

The fact that Carol is still willing to do something to save the group shows her true character. She could have held a grudge against Rick and just walked away. But, being the badass that she is, she developed a plan that turned into the best rescue mission of the series.

The next best thing to this scene is the reunion with Daryl, Rick and the group after realizing who saved them.

Going into season 11 of The Walking Dead, Carol has gone through more tragedy and heartache. It will be interesting to see what happens in the final season that will lead into the Carol and Daryl spinoff series. From the first looks we are seeing, season 11 will bring in a new threat, The Reapers and much more.

The Walking Dead premieres its final season on August 22 on AMC.
