The Walking Dead’s Seth Gilliam has returned to Instagram…so play nice
By Renee Hansen
Many of The Walking Dead actors have quit social media altogether as fans lose their minds and forget that they are real people. They associate the actor with the character and forget that they are doing their job of ‘acting’ when they portray a villain or an unlikeable character. Seth Gilliam, who plays Father Gabriel in the series, quit Instagram but has recently returned to try again.
Gilliam has a very active Facebook account where he generously spends time interacting with his fans. Below is a list of songs that fans recommended to Gilliam that represent different characters on the show. Michelle graciously compiled this list from the submissions.
Thank goodness he decided to return to IG so we can get stellar content like this:

Gilliam has portrayed Father Gabriel on The Walking Dead since season 5, “Strangers.” When we first met Father Gabriel, he was a coward who sacrificed his flock to save his own skin and didn’t know the first thing about defending himself. Fast forward many years later, and he has become a leader and a fighter worthy of the apocalypse.
The Walking Dead will premiere the first episode of its final season on August 22 on AMC. Father Gabriel is in the thick of things from the start from the looks of the teasers and trailer. The group that we have seen in the subway tunnel includes Gabriel, and he seems none too pleased with any input that Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) has to give.
As things look bleak for Alexandria and the leaders need to find food for everyone as the number of residents has grown with the addition of the Hilltop residents and Maggie and her Wardens. It also appears that the Reapers will be a major threat to life at Alexandria. Maggie’s group has had run-ins with the Reapers in the past and she will share her story with the group from Alexandria.
I believe Gabriel will continue on his path as a strong leader who is level-headed and thinks before acting. During his supply run with Aaron in season 10c, we heard him declare “that evil people are the rule, not the exception.” It seems this will carry on into the final season as they come up against another adversary.
If you are headed to Fandemic in September, be sure to get your photo op with Gilliam.
