The Walking Dead cast Ritchie Coster as Pope – new photo

Since the mention of his name in “Home Sweet Home,” fans of The Walking Dead have speculated who Pope is. The gilly-suited Reaper who attacked Maggie’s group wouldn’t utter a sentence except one “Pope marked you.” Pope! Who’s Pope? No one knew, but good news…we are about to find out in part 1 of season 11. Ritchie Coster will play the role of Pope.
Coster was announced in July as joining the cast, but the role was never disclosed. His first appearance will be seen in “Hunted,” the third episode of season 11. It is exciting news to know we will find out more about the Reapers and this Pope, who is most likely the leader if he gives orders to mark people.
He is known for his roles in Dark Knight, The Blacklist, Luck, True Detective and Happy! With a career that spans from the late 90s, you are sure to have seen him in one of his roles.
The Walking Dead season 11 Ritchie Coster
From the teasers and trailer clips, the Reapers are being portrayed as a fearsome group. They are masked and armed, ready for whatever comes at them. We have also seen photos of Daryl tied up and dragged away by the Reapers. I think this group will be major players in at least the first part of season 11. It will be great to get to know more about Coster’s role as Pope.
There is also speculation that Elijah (Okea Eme-Akwari) could be a Reaper. His mask looks similar to many we have seen the other members of the group wear. Maggie told Kelly that Elijah had recently lost his sister. Perhaps the Reaper killer her?
Leah is also another suspected Reaper. There have been photos of a Reaper with Dog next to them. Since we know Dog was originally her pet, this makes sense.
