Demetrius Grosse cast in Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities
By Renee Hansen
Demetrius Grosse played Emile LaRoux in only one episode of Fear the Walking Dead, but this character intrigued me for some reason. I would love to see a Tales of the Walking Dead episode about him. Deadline has reported that Grosse will join fellow Walking Dead Universe actor Andrew Lincoln in the Netflix anthology series Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities.
In Fear the Walking Dead, Grosse’s character was a bounty hunter who would decapitate his victims and put their heads in boxes labeled with their names. Virginia employed him to kill Morgan, but this didn’t work out for the bounty hunter, and Morgan gave him a taste of his own medicine. Virginia found Emile’s head in a box instead.
Characters like these would make excellent stories for the anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead. We could find out backstories, like what made him start putting the heads in the boxes in the first place. There is a lot of potential with that series. Let’s hope we get lots of great stories.
