Walking Dead’s Lauren Cohan bids farewell to the Wardens

The Walking Dead’s episode “Hunted” was a brutal one. The Reapers came to wreak havoc, and they did so in quick time. This week’s episode, unfortunately, brought many deaths to Maggie’s group, the Wardens.
In the episode “Home Sweet Home” we were introduced to a handful of people from Maggie’s new group. Cole (James Devoti) and Elijah (Okea Eme-Akwari) accompanied Maggie when she first reappeared. There were some others who the Reaper killed before we even got introduced to them. Jen, Billy, Maya (Brianna Butler), Gus (David Atkinson) and Ainsley (Haley Leary).
Maggie told of a group who attacked their home and killed many before driving out the remaining survivors. Their leader Pope “marked” Maggie, which lead to the attack we witnessed in season 10.
The Walking Dead the Wardens
At the start of season 11, three more members of the Wardens arrive at Alexandria. Duncan (Marcus Lewis), Agatha (Laurie Fortier) and Frost (Glenn Stanton). All of the Wardens, which also include Cole and Elijah, are extremely loyal to Maggie.
We see a close-knit group, evident when Hershel (Kien Michael Spiller) immediately cozies up to Duncan when he sees him with the simple request “shoulders,” and Duncan obliges by hoisting him up. They all throw looks of disgust in Negan’s directions, as Maggie has shared that story with them, no doubt.
In the episode “Hunted,” Maggie loses Cole, Duncan and Agatha. We only see her reaction to losing Duncan and Agatha as Cole is killed in the raid during the chaos at night. She is heartbroken over both losses. Elijah was last seen in the dark forest being pulled away on a rope by the Reapers. He was most likely captured. Frost hasn’t been seen again, but Lauren Cohan and Stanton, who plays the character, have both shared on Twitter that we haven’t seen the last of him.
Below is the farewell post Cohan shared with her fallen castmates. She is correct that we had to say goodbye to these characters too soon as we really knew nothing about them. But, like we always say, once you are in TWD Family, it is forever.
