The Walking Dead cast, crew, and fans feel a bit nostalgic as the series airs its final season. We have seen many flashback photos posted on social media to remember the early seasons and why we love this show so much. Today, Sarah Wayne Callies, who played Lori Grimes in the series, shared a touching BTS photo on Twitter.

Lori Grimes was the wife of Rick (Andrew Lincoln), the mother of Carl (Chandler Riggs) and the lover of Shane (Jon Bernthal). She drove most fans mad as she pitted Rick and Shane against each other, knowing they both loved her.

She had one of the most heartbreaking deaths in the series as we watched Maggie (Lauren Cohan) administer a c-section while Lori was wide awake. Luckily she fainted right away, but then we also had to witness as her son Carl had to be the one to put the bullet in her head so she wouldn’t reanimate. Then we had to witness Rick’s reaction. Talk about an emotional roller coaster.

The photo Callies shared below is from season 2 when Carl was shot, and he is on the sick bed in Hershel’s (Scott Wilson) home. This was the first time Carl was shot in the series. It is a great throwback photo showing a very young Chandler Riggs. It was awesome of Callies to share it with her fans.

Sarah Wayne Callies Aftershock podcast

After her character died in The Walking Dead series, Callies has been a busy woman. She has had roles in Unspeakable, Letterkenny, Council of Dads and Colony.

Recently she developed a scripted podcast called Aftershock. This is a fast-paced thriller about an island that rises after an earthquake destroys the West Coast. Callies is joined by David Harbour, Tati Gabrielle and fellow Walking Dead cast member Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

You can listen to the trailer for Aftershock below.
