The kids are large and in charge during “Out of the Ashes,” episode 5 of season 11 of The Walking Dead. We see a bit more screen time for the younger generation, and it is refreshing. Sure, they don’t have a lot of action to see, but it is nice to see them on screen doing kid stuff. This week we saw some cool stuff from Cailey Fleming and that great cameo from Gus Morgan.

After the season 9 time jump, Cailey Fleming took over as an older version of Judith and has done an outstanding job. In “Out of the Ashes,” (season 5, episode 11), viewers saw Judith show real emotion regarding Michonne’s departure to search for Rick. It was a reminder that no matter how much of a badass she can be, she is still a child growing up in an apocalypse. She never knew her biological mother, but Michonne has more than picked up the slack in that area. She’s 10x over the mother Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) ever would have been to Judith.

I love that Judith is grooming the next generation of fighters. She is passing down the skills she has been taught to a new generation that could be the next series we see.

Gus Morgan’s cameo appearance in The Walking Dead

A few months ago, Jeffrey Dean Morgan shared the news that his son would make a cameo appearance as a walker in episode 5 of season 11. He shared a fantastic photo of his son in walker makeup on his IG page, and fans couldn’t contain their excitement.

Check out this new post with a great video of his time in the makeup chair!!

The Morgans have made The Walking Dead a family affair with JDM as Negan, Hilarie Burton Morgan as Lucille, and now Gus has a walker. Next, we will need to see Georgie in a cameo at the Commonwealth or something to include the whole family.

Now we have been able to see Gus in his Walking Dead debut. It was a great scene to feature a child walker since the rest of the scene also featured children. He did a great job with his growls and chomping at the kids taunting him.

You can see the scene featuring Judth and Gus’ walker below.
