Jon Bernthal once smacked Spiderman right in the face!

Jon Bernthal is known for his portrayal of rough characters. We’ve seen him on The Walking Dead as Shane Walsh, and don’t forget he is the Punisher. While he does a fantastic job acting out these roles, his real personality is vastly different.

If you have met him at a con or watched him in interviews, Bernthal is a nice guy. He is a true family man and seems like the kind of guy you wouldn’t like to sit and talk to.

He is quite the hot commodity right now with his many newly released projects. This weekend The Unforgivable was released on Netflix, in which he stars with Sandra Bullock. Other newly released features include the Many Saints of Newark, Small Engine Repair, King Richard and Those Who Wish Me Dead. 

Next, we will see him in We Own this City, American Gigolo and the untitled Accountant sequel.

In 2017 he starred in a film called Pilgrimage. 

Jon Bernthal once smacked Tom Holland in the face

Bernthal starred in Pilgrimage with Richard Armitage and Tom Holland. This film is a historical action drama film set in 13th century Ireland and follows a group of monks tasked with transporting a sacred relic to Rome.

Recently Holland participated in First We Feast’s Hot Ones and shared many tidbits about his acting career. One of those bits includes the time that Bernthal smacked him in the face on the Pilgrimage set. (you can see it at about 9:50 in the video)

He starts out saying Bernthal is one of the greatest guys he’s ever met. He shared that he asked Bernthal to rough him up to get him into the mood for a stressful scene. Bernthal declined, but he unexpectedly smacked him right across the face when the camera started rolling. It worked well for the scene, and Holland said he would love to work with him again, showing that there were no hard feelings.

Bernthal also starred in his own episode of Hot Ones in October 2021. After watching this video, you will see that he is truly one amazing guy.
