Andrew Lincoln spotted in café on the wrong side of the pond

Fans of The Walking Dead long for the day to see Andrew Lincoln reprise his role as leader and hero Rick Grimes. It has been widely reported that he will return in The Walking Dead movies that have yet to start filming. As the series is in its final season, fans have hoped to see him reappear before the final episode airs.

GloucestershireLive has reported that Lincoln was spotted on January 16, 2022, in a cafe nowhere near TWD filming locations in Georgia. He was spotted in The Coffee Dispensary on Regent Street in Cheltenham, England. The actor must have enjoyed his coffee as he returned for a second visit on the same day. The cafe posted the visit on their social media pages.

This is disheartening news for fans hoping to see him return to the series. Cinematographer Duane Charles Manwiller told a fan on his IG page that the series only has three more episodes left to film. So, unless Lincoln hops a flight soon, it’s unlikely we will see him in the series.

The Walking Dead final season needs Rick Grimes

At the beginning of the series, Rick Grimes is the first person we are introduced to. Fans of the comics already knew the story, but many “series only” fans had no clue where the story would go. He would go on to be a leader of the main group and quickly become a fan favorite of many viewers.

When it was announced that Lincoln would be separating from the series to spend more time with his family, the fandom thought that would be the end of the series. The series has continued, but many fans feel that the series without Grimes isn’t the same.

With the series ending in 2022, it seems having Rick Grimes reappear, for even one scene seems like a perfect ending to a series that is still enjoyed by many. His return would bring the story full circle.
