The Walking Dead: Eugene and Lance feud?

The Walking Dead will soon return to AMC for season 11B and fans can look forward to eight brand new episodes of the post-apocalyptic series. Things are looking rather different for this round of episodes as much of it takes place inside the walls of the Commonwealth. How exciting!

We are sure to see several character arcs build and reach pivotal moments which will be super important to the future of the series. As anticipation is building for The Walking Dead’s return, fans are eager to get any updates they can on any new content. Recently, we were treated to an amazing trailer that was filled with exciting insights into what lies ahead.

The trailer gave us a glimpse of many main characters, and some new characters we will soon learn more about. There were so many great shots packed into the one and a half minutes but one thing really took me by surprise. There was a snippet of one very angry Eugene. What is going on?!

Will Eugene and Lance feud in The Walking Dead?

At the conclusion of part one of season 11, the last we saw Lance (Josh Hamilton) and Eugene (Josh McDermitt) was 1107 “Promises Broken” when a pretty hard punch was thrown by Eugene to the spoiled Sebastian Milton. Eugene was then imprisoned (again) at the Commonwealth by Lance and told the only way for him to regain freedom was to give up the location to Alexandria. Which by the looks of things, we know he does.

However, upon the release of the trailer, I was shocked to see Eugene clearly very angry about something. We hear him detail how he will expose “who and what” someone is. This puts so many questions into the air. We don’t know yet whom he is talking to but there is a strong possibility it could be Lance.

In November, there was a short teaser trailer posted by The Walking Dead for 11B. In this teaser, there is a quick flash of Eugene standing on a staircase with Lance above him. The costumes seem to match and the angles look like they’re incorrect alignment so could this be who Eugene is going to expose? I think so!

From the clues given so far, it is seeming like “Stephanie” has gone missing and Eugene has been alerted after she missed their ice cream date; I wonder if it was that rocky road flavor Eugene has been craving for so long? From here he makes a missing board to try and solve what happened to her, even pinning up an ice cream cone to it. So, this could mean that Lance has something to do with her disappearance or potentially threatens Eugene if he uncovers something incriminating against Lance. One way or another, it is looking like a classic battle of good vs. evil here.

I think it is extremely likely that we will see a feud between the two and it will be major to TWD story arcs. Hopefully with Eugene leaving as the victor. With now every character inside the Commonwealth, it’s going to be one heck of a set of episodes!

So, can Lance be trusted? I personally don’t think so and don’t know what his agenda is. It could go so many ways but I am very excited to find out – just so long as Eugene is safe of course!
