Walking Dead universe director Micheal Strazemis has shared some great behind-the-scenes photos from early seasons of The Walking Dead on Instagram.

Strazemis has served as a director within the universe since the season four episode “The Grove” of The Walking Dead.  This episode was a highly emotional and fan-favorite that gave the fandom the phrase “Look at the flowers.”

He would direct 17 episodes of the flagship series and then move on to Fear the Walking Dead, where he has directed 19 episodes.

Next, he will also direct three episodes of the third spinoff series, Tales of the Walking Dead. This series is an anthology based on each episode focusing on a new or established character from the original series.

The Walking Dead – Michael Satrazemis behind the scenes

The first photo Strazemis shares was from his Walking Dead directorial debut episode “The Grove.”  It is a photo of Chad Coleman, who portrayed Tyreese in the series. He is asleep on the railroad tracks that would lead to Terminus.

As the final season is upon us, Strazemis and many from the fandom have been looking back at earlier seasons. He stated that he will be sharing some of his photographic memories of the series over the next few weeks. Be sure to follow him on IG.

The next photo he shared will pull at fans’ heartstrings as it features Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his onscreen son Carl (Chandler Riggs).

He reminisces about Lincoln’s work ethic on set and how he was always present even when he wasn’t filming.

He shared a fun fact regarding Riggs and how growing up on set in Lincoln’s presence took on the same work ethic. Riggs shadowed Satrazemis and carried that work ethic into his adulthood.
