Lynn Collins, who plays Leah Shaw on The Walking Dead, recently interviewed with Stuff. She shared some incredible insight into her character, which we will get into below, but one comical moment also happened during this interview.

Zoom interactions have become a valuable tool in our lives, especially since the pandemic. And, we have all heard of some hilarious moments that have taken place during these live sessions.

During her interview with Stuff, Collins’ seven-year-old son, Asher, made a cameo appearance dressed as a walker. She explained that she allowed him to view some of the episodes, and he is quite obsessed with Norman Reedus’ character Daryl Dixon; same here, kid! But, if you are interviewing a zpoc series, you need a walker present.

But, the poor kid wasn’t happy when he watched his mother on screen betraying his favorite character; he burst into tears and didn’t want to watch.

Season 11B will pick up where the Reaper battle left off. To recap, Leah killed Pope, blamed Daryl, and then ordered the wicked-looking hwacha fired into the crowd of walkers descending on Meridian. Maggie, Negan, Elijah, Gabriel and Daryl were among the horde.

In the interview, Collins discusses Leah’s evolution from happy homemaker in the woods with Daryl and Dog to the powerful badass who has taken over the leadership of the Reapers.

"But what’s exciting is, if you didn’t like her then and you don’t like her now, there’s some more episodes coming where she’s totally different again."

That comment makes us think she will survive the battle, but what will her part be among the survivors? She has been no saint since Daryl has been reacquainted with her. She took part in his torture and then betrayed him. She will fall in line with characters who have been on the wrong side and crossed over, like Tara (Alanna Masterson) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Tara quickly acclimated, but she didn’t kill anyone, and Negan still tries to redeem himself at every step.

Collins also shared that she has known her character’s entire arc since accepting the role. This is unusual for The Walking Dead as anything goes with this series. But, as the series is in its final season, things will need to be tied up.

"Angela (showrunner Angela Kang) actually pitched the entire arc of the character to me when I accepted the part in 2020. We didn’t know exactly how it would end – and Norman and I definitely pitched a lot of different things – but, at the end of the day, (the struggle of) power versus love is basically what we’re all going through and we can end up choosing one or the other at any different moment."

She also commented that Leah has a relationship with Daryl, but she also had a father figure in Pope, and she killed him. Her parting comment in the interview rings true:

"She has no allegiance, nothing to protect and there’s nothing more terrifying than a woman who has nothing to lose."

It will be interesting to see Leah’s role going into season 11B. Will we hate her more or come to love her or at least tolerate her?
