Who plays Pamela Milton on The Walking Dead?
By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead episode “New Haunts” introduced a much-talked-about new character. Governer Pamela Milton of the Commonwealth finally made her on-screen debut.
Milton’s father was a former US President who established the Commonwealth community. She has continued his legacy as a leader of the community. The Commonwealth community is vast and organized and seems very safe with all the military personnel. There is a distinct class system set up, and the upper class most assuredly gets preferential treatment, as was witnessed with the Halloween celebration. Everyone was in attendance at the outdoor event, but the masquerade ball saw only the elite with an invitation.
In the episode “New Haunts,” a former soldier, Tyler Davis (Cameron Roberts), made Milton aware of possible resistance to the Commonwealth. This was the first time we saw her look anything but polished and together. This seemed to shake her slightly as she instructed her deputy Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton) to look into any possible talks of a revolt.
Who is Laila Robins on The Walking Dead?
The announcement that Laila Robins would portray Governor Milton in The Walking Dead series had been announced quite some time ago. Showrunner Angela Kang said in an interview that it would be “a minute” before we saw this character on the series. We met her son Sebastian (Teo Rapp-Olsson) and Deputy Governor Hornsby much earlier in the season.
Now that we have met her, we can see that she is in control and her staff is dedicated to her. She seems to have something against Hornsby, which we could see by her treatment of him. She acts as though he is beneath her and perhaps in the hierarchy of the Commonwealth he is.
It will be exciting to see where her story goes as the season progresses.
Robins has been acting since the late 80s and has starred in Planes, Trains and Automobiles, True Crime, Live Nude Girls, She’s Lost Control, Eye in the Sky, A Call to Spy, Homeland, Murder in the First, Dr. Death, The Blacklist and The Boys. She is another Walking Dead cast member who has also starred in Law and Order, the original, Special Victims Unit, and Criminal Intent.
She has starred in many stage productions both on and off-Broadway, including A Street Car Named Desire, Frozen, Macbeth, Antony and Cleopatra, The Merchant of Venice, and many more.
