The Walking Dead joins the VOXverse with Gala Games

AMC and Gala Games recently announced a partnership that will release a set of Walking Dead VOX NFTs. These NFTs have utility in both the cross-platform survival MMORPG, The Walking Dead: Empires, and in VOXverse, which is being developed by gaming visionary and The Sims creator Will Wright.

On March 28, 2022, Walking Dead fans can purchase one of 8,888 NFTs inspired by the survivors and walkers of the series. You can subscribe via email and receive free stuff from Vox.

"“Since debuting Empires at Galaverse, we’ve been overwhelmed by the community’s enthusiasm for The Walking Dead’s entrance into the metaverse,” said Clayton Neuman, VP of Games at AMC. “We’re excited to grow our partnership with Gala Games by joining VOXverse, which will allow our fans to experience their favorite show across multiple gaming titles.”"

Will Wright will be on the Gala Games discord on March 17 to discuss details about the upcoming metaverse.

The Walking Dead Empires

The Walking Dead Empires is a multiplayer game set in The Walking Dead world. The central theme of this game is “Build, Battle, Benefit.” Players will establish land, building bases to ready themselves to fight off the walkers and other survivors who are a threat.

The Walking Dead series is currently airing its final season on AMC. The last season consists of 24 episodes released in three parts. Part one aired in 2021, with part two presently airing on AMC and AMC+. The final part of the season will be released before the end of 2022.

The franchise will continue with the Fear the Walking Dead series, currently in its seventh season, and has been renewed for an eighth. There is also a spin-off series, Tales of the Walking Dead, slated for release during the summer of 2022. In 2023 there will be two additional spin-offs, Isle of the Dead, which will see Maggie and Negan explore the island of Manhattan in their adventure, and the untitled Carol and Daryl spin-off series.
