Two weeks ago, The Walking Dead began filming for the final episode of the last season of the series. It was a bittersweet moment for everyone in the fandom. Even though everyone knew the time would come, it was emotional to know it was finally upon us.

On March 11, Norman Reedus, who has portrayed Daryl Dixon on the series since the first season, was injured and suffered a concussion, which halted production for this episode. Sadly, Reedus also had to cancel his appearance at Fandemic Tour to allow himself to recover.

Director of Photography for The Walking Dead, Duane Charles Manwiller, and others have been outstanding in sharing photos of the final season as well as some great pictures from previous seasons. Yesterday Manwiller shared that filming would resume on Tuesday, March 21.

The Walking Dead season 11

The Walking Dead series has now passed the halfway point of airing episodes for the final season. Things began with the completion of the Reaper war and went on to find out how things are in the Commonwealth.

Many residents of Alexandria were transplanted to the Commonwealth and have begun new jobs in this community. The true nature of the CW is slowly being revealed, and it appears that Lance Hornsby is less than trustworthy.

Due to the announcements of spinoffs, we do know that Carol, Daryl, Maggie and Negan will all survive the final episode. Other than that, we won’t know who else will make the final scene until the time comes.  The last eight episodes, known as part 3 or season 11C, have yet to have a release date, but these should air before the end of 2022.

The fandom will carry on with Fear the Walking Dead with the premiere of the second half of season 7 on April 17 on AMC. This series has been renewed for an eighth season as well. Tales of the Walking Dead will premiere during the summer of 2022; this will be an anthology-based series telling stories of new and established characters within The Walking Dead world.

Next. Maggie and Negan spinoff Isle of the Dead will film in Manhattan. dark
