Fear the Walking Dead: Dead in the Water cast, release and more

The Walking Dead universe has several spinoffs in the works, with Tales of the Walking Dead set to release in the summer of 2022. Fear the Walking Dead, a spinoff of the flagship, is also getting a digital spinoff, Dead in the Water.
This webisode is intended to promote the back half of season 7 of Fear TWD. Dead in the Water will air only on AMC+, written by Jacob Pinion and directed by Kenneth Requa. Pinion has been involved on the writing team for Fear the Walking Dead and wrote the six-episode digital series The Althea Tapes. Requa has served as a producer for several episodes of The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead.
Set on the eve of the outbreak, new father Riley (Nick Stahl) and his shipmates aboard the USS Pennsylvania submarine fight for survival as the vessel becomes a nuclear-fueled, walker-filled death-trap. Riley was a weapons officer on the submarine featured in season 6 of Fear the Walking Dead.

As stated above, this miniseries will only air via AMC+ and will be available on April 10.

Nick Stahl will reprise his role as Riley from Fear the Walking Dead. He was one of cult leader Teddy Maddox’s (John Glover) minions who died before the nuclear explosion in season 6 of that series.

Dead in the Water premieres one week ahead of the season 7B premiere of Fear the Walking Dead on AMC on April 17. The first two episodes of the second half of season 7 will air on this same day on AMC+.
