The Walking Dead season 11 episode 15

The episode of The Walking Dead titled “Trust” shows how important trust is to surviving a zombie apocalypse.

I don’t think I can adequately tackle how important trust is to surviving a zombie apocalypse. This is a vital survival strategy and is essential to being part of a group. Simply saying you need trust in a zombie apocalypse is a gross understatement.

It can’t be overstated how destructive lies can be in a zombie apocalypse. Since trust is so important, giving people reasons not to trust you is an equal and opposite force. A person who you trust is extremely valuable and someone you want around. At the same time, a liar is exceptionally detrimental and someone you want to be away from as soon as possible. It is difficult to truly grasp the value of trust in the apocalypse without also discussing the very thing which would cause you to lose trust in the first place.

For this reason (and the fact that the latest episode of The Walking Dead was titled “Trust”), I decided this week was the perfect time to tackle the two sides of this proverbial coin and explain their value to you in an apocalypse. This will only be a fraction of what can be said about the importance of trust and the questions of what to do when trust is lost, but I’d like to think a critical fraction.
