Norman Reedus Eye in the Dark print to benefit rescue cats

The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus and his family recently lost their beloved pet, Eye in the Dark. This cat was a rescue he adopted for his son when he was only five years old. His son requested a black kitten, and Reedus found a kitten at a shelter where he was told that the cat “is never gonna love anybody.”

Reedus shared that his son proved them wrong and proceeded to break the cat “like a horse.” His son named the cat Eye in the Dark because when it would lay on the black floors of their apartment, all you could see were his eyes. For many years Reedus would bring the cat with him as he traveled from New York to Georgia for filming and other destinations around the globe and posted photos on social media of their adventures.

Eye in the Dark had become a celebrity himself, with fans using the hashtag #EITDtribe for posts about the feline. When news of the cat’s death surfaced, fans posted fan art and other posts of condolence.

Norman Reedus is an avid photographer and often took photos of the Eye in the Dark. One of these photos has been made into a signed limited edition metal print, with the proceeds going to Beth’s Furry Friends.  

This organization is instrumental in the creation of the world’s largest no-kill shelter and rescue organization Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center.
