This week’s Walking Dead universe news (April 29, 2022)
By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead universe was shaken this week with the news that Melissa McBride will no longer be a part of what was known as the Carol and Daryl spinoff series. Reports circulated stating that this series would be filming in Europe, which was “logistically untenable” for McBride. This was unfortunate news for fans of the duo that was looking forward to this series.
Sunday, May 1, AMC will air the next episode of Fear the Walking Dead “Ofelia” at 9 p.m. ET. This episode is currently available on AMC+. On that same day, AMC+ will begin airing the following episode, ” Sonny Boy.”
“Ofelia” will see Wes and Luciana see Daniel’s mental state continue to deteriorate, which will try their patience. The title is the name of Daniel’s daughter, who died in season 3. These character-focused episodes are often worrisome, as you never know if they will survive them. This episode marks the directorial debut of Alycia Debnam-Carey, who portrays Alicia in the series.
