Fans of The Walking Dead have a bit of a wait for the remaining eight episodes in the eleventh and final season of the series. AMC will resume airing episodes this fall, but no official release date has been announced. Fans have been combing social media and news outlets, hoping to see new images from the final segment of the series. Although no official new photos have been released, a little sneak peek has been posted by Director of Photography Duane Charles Manwiller.

Manwiller’s Instagram page is worth the follow for any fan of TWD. He posts outstanding behind-the-scenes photos and other great shots fans would never see otherwise. Recently he shared a sneak peek photo of Lauren Cohan in character as Maggie Rhee with the caption, “Lauren Cohan looking like a badass zombie slayer. Little sneak peek to the fall.”

The background of Manwiller’s photo is the Commonwealth’s Union Station (as you can see in the background of the photo featuring Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura) and Tomi (Ian Anthony Dale).

This photo reveals that Maggie will infiltrate the Commonwealth at some point during season 11C. The trailer for part 3 of the series shows a lot of action at the Commonwealth, alluding that the battle will come to that community and could result in its downfall.

With the Commonwealth’s Lance Hornsby taking over Alexandria, Hilltop, and Oceanside, our survivors are without a home base and must go to the source if they want to ensure their won survival.

The announcement of the Isle of the Dead spinoff series ensures that Maggie will survive whatever she encounters upon entering the Commonwealth. But, since this is the final season, there are many other characters whose futures aren’t as secure. The battle against the Commonwealth could result in heavy losses.

The Walking Dead will return to AMC in the fall of 2022 for the final eight episodes.
