Alicia Witt portrayed Paula on The Walking Dead series in season 6. She was a member of Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) Saviors and met our survivors during the attack at the satellite post. She and a handful of others escaped the attack and captured Carol (Melissa McBride) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan). Paula didn’t know who she was coming up against with these two powerhouse women, and in the end, she loses out and is attacked by a walker. Witt has suffered greatly in recent months with the tragic loss of her parents and has now revealed that she has completed chemotherapy treatments about two months ago for her cancer diagnosis.

Witt took to Instagram to share the news that she completed six rounds of chemo treatments that were started around the time her parents, Robert and Diane Witt, died. She shared a video of the celebration of her final treatment with her doctor in attendance as she rang the bell. She also gave a shout-out to her “tiny crew of human angels” who stood by her side.

She chose to keep her diagnosis private until after her mastectomy, and the doctors could declare that she was cancer-free. She will continue immunotherapies until the end of this year.

Our best wishes to Witt for continued healthy reports.

Alicia Witt – career

Witt began her career in 1984 when she starred in David Lynch’s Dune, where she portrayed Alia. Lynch would later cast her in his cult classic TV series Twin Peaks as Gersten Hayward, a role he wrote specifically for Witt and later in his HBO trilogy Hotel Room.

She has had many memorable roles during her career, including Cybill, The Sopranos, Ally McBeal, Last Holiday, Friday Night Lights, Justified and Orange Is the New Black.

She is another Walking Dead actor we can add to the Law & Order family list, as she starred in several episodes of Law & Order: Criminal Intent during season 7.

Witt is also a singer/songwriter and classically trained pianist. She plays piano-driven rock and has opened for Ben Folds Five. Her music is available on Spotify or wherever you stream music.
