Happy Weekend TWD Family. Once again, this week was full of news within The Walking Dead universe. Sadly, we won’t have a new episode of The Walking Dead or Fear the Walking Dead to look forward to on Sunday.

This week’s biggest news was the announcement of Tales of the Walking Dead’s premiere on AMC on August 14.  AMC+ will release the first two episodes of season 1 on that date, with the remaining four episodes premiering one week early.

This series is a spinoff, but unlike the other TWD spinoffs, the stories will be stand-alone, so each episode features new characters with new tales. The characters will either be brand new to TWD universe or already established. Samantha Morton is the only confirmed character for this season to reprise her role as Alpha, the leader of the Whispers.

This series has some fantastic casting, including Olivia Munn, Jessie T. Usher, Danny Ramirez, Loan Chabanol, Embeth Davidtz, Gage Munroe, Lauren Glazier, Daniella Pineda, Terry Crews (James Sampson), Anthony Edwards  (Kyle Adler), Parker Posey, Poppy Liu  (Amy Zhang), Jillian Bell  (Sandra Dolan), Rachael Markarian  (Jenna), Eric Tiede (Nolan), Matt Medrano (Mauricio Gonzalez), Ari Loeb  (Seventh Man- stunts), Marvin LaVoilette  (Todd), William J. Simmons  (Wendell Sampson), Kevin J. Johnson, Robert Tinsely  Zombie (uncredited) and Sarah Graham (Zombie). (character name in parenthesis, if known)
