AMC’s Dark Winds stars Walking Dead’s Noah Emmerich
By Renee Hansen
AMC has a long list of fantastic series in its lineup, including Better Call Saul, Copper’s Bar, 61St Street, Killing Eve, all of The Walking Dead universe series, and more. This fall, the highly anticipated Interview with a Vampire series will premiere. This Sunday, there is no new Walking Dead episode, but you can check out the latest series premiering on AMC, Dark Winds.
The psychological thriller Dark Winds was created by Graham Roland, who is known for his work on Jack Ryan, Fringe, Lost, Prison Break, and more, is based on a book series by Tony Hillerman titled Leaphorn & Chee. The story follows fellow Navajo law enforcement officers Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee and is set in the 1970s southwest. The pair investigate a double murder that forces them to challenge their spiritual beliefs.
The cast includes Zhan McClarnon as Leaphorn and Kiowa Gordon as Chee. They are joined by Jessica Matten, Rainn Wilson, Deanna Allison, and The Walking Dead’s Dr. Edwin Jenner, Noah Emmerich.
The series premieres on AMC Sunday, June 12 at 9 p.m. ET. The first season consists of six episodes.

Noah Emmerich- The Walking Dead and more
Fans of The Walking Dead remember Emmerich from his role as Dr. Jenner from the season 1 finale of the series. He was the last scientist at the CDC who told Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) that everyone is infected with the virus. He would make a surprise return in an after-credit scene at the end of The Walking Dead: World Beyond spinoff series.
Emmerich will portray Whitover, a burned-out FBI agent in AMC’s Dark Winds, and appear in all six episodes of season 1.
He has had many memorable roles throughout his career; one of my personal favorites is from the film Beautiful Girls, a film he starred in with a host of other talented actors. Matt Dillon, Timothy Hutton, Annabeth Gish, Lauren Holly, Rosie O’Donnell, Martha Plimpton, Natalie Portman, Mira Sorvino, Uma Thurman, David Arquette, and fellow Walking Dead alum Pruitt Taylor Vince.
Emmerich is also known for his roles in The Truman Show, White Collar, Backwash, The Americans, Space Force and Suspicion. Next, he will star in a crime thriller, The Good Nurse, which is based on a book by Charles Graeber that chronicles the true story of Charles Cullen, a serial killer who, during his 16-year career as a nurse murdered as many as 300 of his patients. This film also stars fellow TWDU actress Kim Dickens.
