Steven Ogg is one of those actors who really gets into his craft. He portrays specific characters and is often typecast as “the crazy guy, the unpredictable guy,” though he would love to play more diverse roles. In The Walking Dead world, he is known as one of those unpredictable guys, Simon, the former Savior and right hand of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). He has many new projects in the works, including the brand new Ogg IPA.

Ogg shared the news on social media with a great Laverne & Shirley-inspired video. On June 10, 2022, Ogg IPA was released, a limited-release brewed by Common Space Brewery, located in Los Angeles. The unique artwork featured on the cans includes a great depiction of Ogg that artist Ronny Haugeland drew

The beer proceeds will benefit The Longest Day and Alzheimer’s Association to spread awareness, care, support, and research efforts for Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.

On Saturday, June 11, Common Space held a fundraiser where Ogg and local Alzheimer Assoc. representatives were on hand to shed light and raise funds for the association. The event included live music, a DJ, a silent auction, a cornhole tournament, and tap beers all day.

Sadly, the brew can only be sold in California, but anyone can purchase the Ogg IPA shirt with Ogg’s mug on the back, and $5 of each shirt benefits The Longest Day.

Steven Ogg – new projects

Fans have recently enjoyed Ogg in the series Snowpiercer where he plays Pike. He is also well known for his roles in Better Call Saul, The Short History of the Long Road, The Tick, Westworld and Rush: Inspired by Battlefield.

Next, he will star in a thriller Orgami and an action thriller Emancipation with fellow Walking Dead alum Jayson Warner Smith. Emancipation, a film from Apple TV+, tells of Peter (Will Smith), an escaped slave who flees North after being nearly beaten to death and joins the Union Army. This film is based on the true story of Gordon, an escaped slave whose photos of his bare back after being scrouged were published worldwide in 1863, showing proof of the true cruelty of American slavery.

Ogg will also star in a drama crime drama Now I See with Snowpiercer co-star Annalise Basso. He will also star in The Dresden Sun, a cyberpunk indie film with Christina Ricci and Samantha Win.
