Stream one of Jon Bernthal’s best movies on HBO Max
By Renee Hansen
There are no new episodes of The Walking Dead this weekend, so why not check out one of Jon Bernthal’s best movies? Bernthal is known for portraying Shane Walsh on TWD and has been extremely busy with new projects, including We Own This City, an HBO Max series. But did you know one of his best movies is also streaming on the said platform?
According to my husband, who has excellent taste in movies, The Accountant is one of Bernthal’s best movies, and you can watch it on HBO Max or rent it on iTunes and Prime Video. Rumors have circulated for years that a sequel for the movie is in the works.
The film is directed by Gavin O’Connor, the director, screenwriter, producer, playwright, and actor who is also known for Miracle, and was written by Bill Dubuque. He is part of the team behind creating the outstanding Netflix original series, Ozark.
Jon Bernthal in The Accountant
The film follows Christian Wolff, a high-functioning autistic man who channels his mathematics genius for work as a CPA at his small accounting office in Plainfield, Illinois. The office is a cover for his shady dealings in money laundering for several criminal organizations. He is hired for a legitimate job by Living Robotics to audit some accounting irregularities. When he begins to uncover the truth, people involved with the company begin to die, and hitmen are ordered to kill Wolff.
Bernthal portrays Christian’s younger brother, Braxton, who owns a security company and works as a hitman for Living Robotics CEO Lamar Blackburn.
The Accountant Cast
In addition to Bernthal, The Accountant includes a stellar lineup of talent with Ben Affleck as Christian Wolff, Anna Kendrick, J. K. Simmons, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Jeffrey Tambor, and John Lithgow.

If you haven’t watched this movie yet, you really need to set aside the time to do so. If you have, you know it is worth a rewatch.
