Fans of Jeffrey Dean Morgan have been longing to hear news of a cameo appearance in the Prime Video series The Boys. A month ago, creator Eric Kripke told Entertainment Weekly that he didn’t think an appearance by Morgan would happen. But not for lack of trying. Kripke has asked the question, but Morgan’s busy schedule hasn’t allowed it. Fast forward to June in an interview with E Online, and things have changed.

Kripke, the creator of The Boys and Supernatural, is anxious to reunite with Morgan. His Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles joined The Boys in season 3 as Soldier Boy, so it only makes sense to add Morgan in the mix, even if it is a cameo. Previously, Kripke and Morgan only discussed the possibility via Twitter but have now engaged in conversations via chat and email to see if this can be worked out.

The Boys has been renewed for a fourth season and even though Morgan is set to film The Walking Dead spinoff Isle of the Dead in Manhattan with Lauren Cohan (Maggie Rhee), the hope is he will be able to squeeze in an appearance on The Boys.

Morgan portrayed John Winchester on Supernatural, the father of Dean (Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki). Morgan starred in 15 episodes of the series, and fans loved him as the patriarch of the Winchester family.

Ackles and Morgan have become great friends over the years, getting matching tattoos, and Jensen and TWD co-star Norman Reedus officiated his wedding to Hilarie Burton Morgan in 2019. Burton-Morgan is good friends with Ackels’ wife, Danneel Ackles (née Harris), as they, along with Sophia Bush, starred in One Tree Hill. One big happy family.

Fans are waiting to finally hear the official news stating Morgan will be seen in at least one episode of The Boys season 4.
