The Walking Dead’s Khary Payton in Wingman Magazine Summer edition

Khary Payton made quite the entrance when he was introduced as King Ezekiel on The Walking Dead series. He looked as if he walked directly off the comic page, to the delight of fans. He introduced himself to a perplexed Carol (Melissa McBride) as he sat on his throne with his pet tiger Shiva at his side. Payton shared the news that he is featured in the summer edition of Wingman Magazine. 

Payton is featured with several other noteworthy names, including Steven Weber, Bronson Pinchot, Rebecca Gayheart, Keesha Sharp, Billy Boyd, fellow Walking Dead alum Kirk Acevedo, and numerous other big names. The summer edition of the publication is full of fantastic interviews and much more.

Payton shared photos of two of the outfits he wore for his appearance in Wingman magazine with what he described as “pants almost as loud as I am.”

Payton’s character Ezekiel experienced a significant health scare remedied by the resources at the advanced community known as the Commonwealth. That, and some manipulation by Carol. As she always does, Carol did want needed to be done to aid someone she cares about.

Carol sided with the Deputy Governor, Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton), to gain his favor and have Ezekiel moved up on the surgery list to receive life-saving surgery. Although no longer a couple, Carol and Ezekiel remain great friends and Carol wasn’t about to stand by and watch him die.

What does the future hold for Ezekiel? With only eight episodes remaining in The Walking Dead, viewers are sure to find out his fate this fall. He is involved with Connie (Lauren Ridloff) and the others who have dug up dirty on Governor Milton and her family and distributed a rogue publication containing all they have discovered to the residents of the Commonwealth.  Before the end, there will undoubtedly be some repercussions for these actions.

Payton is also well known for his roles in several animated series. He is known as the voice of Cyborg, a DC Comic character featured in films, cartoons, and video games. You can also hear his voice acting in Family Guy, Amerian Dad!, Teen Titans Go! and he will reprise his role as Black Samson in season 2 of the Amazon original animated series Invincible. A series that stars fellow Walking Dead actor Steven Yeun in the titular role and is based on a comic created by Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman.

Next, he will star as a character named Chameleon Man in a new animated series, Avenging Justice.
