As we wait for the announcements, trailers, and other tidbits in The Walking Dead universe that will come from San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) in July, it’s fun to comb the internet and social media for clues to what is to come. Last night Duane Charles Manwiller, Cinematographer for The Walking Dead, continued his teaser photos for the show’s final season on Instagram.

As always, it is a fabulous shot, he never disappoints on that count, and if you look closely, you will see this horde of walkers appears to be inside the walls of the Commonwealth. The official teaser for part 3 of season 11 shows chaos in the community, so a breach in the walls could very well happen.

Manwiller is always careful not to give away anything important so even though his caption reads, “Oh SNAP…… it’s not looking too good for some poor soul out there,” and knowing The Walking Dead creators, it could be a horse being eaten under there. Regardless, it is a very cool shot and helps build the excitement for the final eight episodes since AMC hasn’t done any promoting to hype it up.

During the midseason finale of season 11, the Commonwealth, or rather, Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton), had taken control of Alexandria, Hilltop and Oceanside. When we last saw him, he was flipping his coin to decide the fate of the residents at Oceanside.

The big question remains, is Hornsby doing this with Governer Milton’s (Laila Robins) permission or knowledge? Or has he gone rogue? The Governer is an elitist, but how much does she truly know about the underbelly of things going on under her nose? These are questions that will hopefully be answered before the series ends.

We know Aaron (Ross Marquand), Gabriel (Seth Gilliam), Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) have made enemies of the Commonwealth. Still, we see Maggie and Daryl inside the Commonwealth walls in the teaser. Things will be going down, and hopefully, the body count isn’t too high on the side of our survivors. We know Maggie, Daryl, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), and Carol (Melissa McBride) will survive, but with these being the last episodes of the series, some of our favorites are bound to die.
