Tales of the Walking Dead panel at Comic Con 2022

This week AMC announced the lineup of panels and events for Comic Con 2022 which will be held in San Diego, California July 21-14. The most exciting news is the inclusion of The Walking Dead panel, the series that has been attending the event since 2010 ahead of its premiere in the fall of that year. Another exciting announcement for AMC and The Walking Dead universe is the spinoff series panel for Tales of the Walking Dead.
This spinoff is one of several in the works and is an anthology series that will release on AMC on August 14. This panel will take place in the famous Hall H on Friday, July 22 at 12:30 PM PT. Fans will get an introduction to this series that will feature standalone stories of new and established characters within TWDU. The first season will consist of six one-hour episodes with the characters facing new situations faced through different eyes as they discover more worlds, mythos, and mysteries of the Walking Dead.
The panel will be moderated by Talking Dead’s Chris Hardwick and feature Chief Content Officer of The Walking Dead Universe, Scott M. Gimple, Showrunner and Executive Producer Channing Powell, Director and Executive Producer Michael Satrazemis. They will be joined by cast members Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Samantha Morton (The Walking Dead, Harlots), and Danny Ramirez (Top Gun: Maverick) with additional cast pending.
Tales of the Walking Dead
Tales of the Walking Dead is a unique foray into the apocalyptic world of The Walking Dead as new stories will open the universe. With each episode telling a new tale, this series could see the return of any number of characters, dead or alive, and offshoot experiences they encountered during periods of time when they weren’t featured during the main storylines.
The only confirmed return character is Alpha, portrayed by Samantha Morton. Although the promo photo refers to her as Dee and she is sporting long hair. This indicates her story will be during a different time in her life, long before she became a member of the Whisperers. As she will be in attendance at Comic Con 2022, perhaps some light will be shed on her story.
It will be exciting to see what information comes from Comic Con 2022. Perhaps we will even see a full-length trailer for Tales of the Walking Dead.
