Michael James Shaw quickly became a fan favorite for his portrayal of Mercer in The Walking Dead series. Michael Mercer is the imposing leader of the Commonwealth army, and the fact that he is easy on the eyes doesn’t hurt his appeal. Fans of Shaw will be happy to know that he returns in season 2 of Blood & Treasure.

The series is an action-adventure created by Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia and debuted on CBS in 2019.  Federman and Scaia are joined by e Taylor Elmore, Ben Silverman, Marc Webb, and Mark Vlasic as executive producers.

The series follows an antiquities expert and an art thief who are both extremely talented in their area of expertise. They partner in pursuit of a terrorist who funds his operation via stolen treasures.

Shaw portrays Aiden Shaw (né Dwayne Coleman) and additional cast members include Matt Barr, Sofia Pernas, James Callis, Katia Winter, Oded Fehr, Alicia Coppola and Mark Gagliardi. Recurring actors include John Larroquette, Antonio Cupo, Tony Nash, Ali Hassan, Anna Silk and Paget Brewster.

The second season of Blood & Treasure will premiere on July 17 on Paramount+. The first two episodes release that day, with the remaining eleven episodes airing weekly on Sundays.

Below is the trailer for season 2.

Michael James Shaw – The Walking Dead season 11

Shaw joined the series in season 11 and fans were excited to see his portrayal of Mercer as this character is one featured in the comic story. He had the look down, as he looked as if he walked off the comic page and then went on to prove his acting chops by being exactly what comic fans hoped he would be in the series.

What will the final eight episodes of the series hold for Mercer? He seems to be a man torn between loyalty to his community, the Commonwealth, and his desire to make the apocalyptic world a better place. He doesn’t seem convinced that Governer Milton (Laila Robins) and Dep. Governor Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton) are the ones who will bring about a better world for the survivors.

In the last episodes, things will undoubtedly get very exciting for Mercer as it appears a battle is coming to the Commonwealth streets.

Shaw will make his first Walking Dead appearance at Comic Con 2022. Fans will see the premiere of The Walking Dead’s season 11 part 3 trailer and hopefully the premiere date of those episodes.
