Tales of the Walking Dead is the next spin off series of The Walking Dead. This series will look a bit different than Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond, the first two spinoffs. Tales of TWD will be anthology based, with each episode telling a new story with new characters. This series is an exciting addition to the fandom as it has the potential to truly expand the storyline.

Comic Con 2022 will take place July 21-24 in San Diego, and Tales of TWD will have its first panel at this event. Chris Hardwick of Talking Dead will moderate, and the panel will consist of Scott M. Gimple, Showrunner Channing Powell, Director Michael Satrazemis, and cast members Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Samantha Morton (The Walking Dead, Harlots), and Danny Ramirez (Top Gun: Maverick) with additional cast pending. This panel will take place in the famous Hall H on Friday, July 22, at 12:30 p.m. PT.

The fandom anticipates the release of a full-length trailer for Tales of TWD at this event. AMC often uses Comic Con to kick off the promotion of upcoming seasons of its series. The Walking Dead will also have a final panel at this year’s event, and the official trailer for the last eight episodes of this series will premiere during its panel.

Tales of the Walking Dead teaser

AMC surprised fans with a more extended teaser trailer this past week. It was a short video, but this is the first real glimpse into the series showing viewers the tone of the series.

The teaser shows several key cast members, including Parker Posey as Blair and Jullian Bell as Sandra Dolan about to try something new, and Terry Crews as James Sampson carrying a goat! Daniella Pineda and Jessie T. Usher appear to be in trouble during their clips. And Anthony Edwards has some sort of contraption strapped to his back as he investigates something gross.

We see Alpha (Samantha Morton) and what appears to be a young Lydia trying to survive. Alpha is the only confirmed recurring character from the flagship series. Crews and Olivia Munn are shown together, adding a bit of humor to the apocalypse.

Each episode seems to have its own tone and setting, which makes sense as several different directors direct the episodes, and each story is its own.
