Walking Dead comic artist Charlie Adlard new horror comic Damn Them All

BOOM! Studios has announced a new original horror comic Damn Them All, from Walking Dead comic artist Charlie Adlard, acclaimed writer Simon Spurrier known for Hellblazer, colorist Sofie Dodgson (Bitter Root) and letterer Jim Campbell (All-New Firefly).

Coming October 2022 will introduce occultist for hire, Ellie “Bloody El” Hawthorne. Ellie is tasked with tracking down the 72 devils of Ars Goetia freed from hell. She must track each one down and return them to their eternal damnation via ” holy water, conjuration, or just her trusty, rusty claw hammer.”

In the release issued by BOOM! Studios Adlard stated he has wanted to work with BOOM! for ages and with Spurrier as well. He is excited for Damn Them All as it is intense, brutal and horrific.

The Walking Dead artist Charlie Adlard

Charlie Adlard is a British comic book artist and illustrator best known for his work on The Walking Dead comic. He has worked in the industry for over 25 years, with the majority of that time working on TWD.

Born in Shrewsbury, England, Adlard attended college, set on a career in the film industry. After discovering his degree wouldn’t get him far in that career goal and a failed attempt at being a drummer in a rock band, he set his sights on a third dream, comics. He got his first gig at the Judge Dredd Magazine in 1992 and hasn’t looked back. You can see a fantastic walk through his career via his website.

The Walking Dead comic was first published in 2004, with Adlard joining at issue seven. The series would run for 193 issues, winning An Eisner Award, the comic equivalent to an Oscar, in 2010, the same year the series premiered on AMC. Adlard would serve as one of the walkers who over-take Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) in the pilot episode, “Days Gone Bye.”
