Melissa McBride, this is my love note to you. You have been a QUEEN on this series for the entire time it has aired. You have taken Carol Peletier on a journey from an abused housewife to a kickass warrior of the apocalypse. Carol does the jobs no one else has the courage or stamina to take on, and she still manages to be a caring and loving person. A weaker woman would have let this world consume her and transformed her into a harsh, unfeeling person. Bravo for 12 years of your portrayal of Carol, and THANK YOU for all that you have done on this series to make it such a fantastic show.

This year’s Comic Con panel was the final one for The Walking Dead series, and it was highly emotional for the cast, crew, fans, and everyone else involved. This series is more than just a show we watch; it is a fandom that has created TWD Family and is something special to be a part of.

During this year’s event, McBride got emotional, which made us all emotional to hear her share her heart. It was great to hear from her as she generally keeps to herself, and we don’t see many McBride sightings outside of TWD events.

The Walking Dead – Melissa McBride

McBride stepped away from the Carol and Daryl spinoff, but during the Comic Con panel Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl, teased that the “Daryl-Carol story isn’t over yet.” Fans of the duo are hopeful that this is true as they love the chemistry between these two characters and the actors as well. It would be wonderful to see their story continue eventually.

Carol and Daryl are the only remaining characters from season 1 still on the series, so they are quite the icons of the fandom.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC with the final eight episodes of the series on October 2, 2022.
