The Walking Dead’s Greg Nicotero joined the panel at Comic Con 2022 during the series’ final appearance at the event. The Walking Dead universe had a lot of great news announced during this event, including a Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) spin off series that will take the place of the trilogy of movies. Nicotero was set to direct the film, but it is yet to be announced if he is involved in the spin off.

July 29-31, fans can see Nicotero at Midsummer Scream Halloween and Horror Con in Long Beach, California. On Friday night, he will be a guest on LeeAnna Vamp’s live podcast Let’s Get Spooky. They will discuss his long-running career, which began as an assistant to Tom Savini on Dead of the Dead (1985), to The Walking Dead, Creepshow and more. He will also be available to meet with fans throughout the weekend at the Tee No Evil booth.

Midsummer Scream is an annual event showcasing the diversity of Southern California’s haunt and horror community. In addition to Nicotero, this year’s guests include James Jude Courtney, Christine McConnell, Kirk Hammett, PJ Soles, Daniel Roebuck, Jeff Daniel Philips and more.

Greg Nicotero – The Walking Dead and more

The Walking Dead panel at Comic Con 2022 was a bittersweet event. The celebration of a series that has run for 11 seasons is an amazing accomplishment, but the end is something no one is ready to face. Nicotero directed the series’ final episode, an honor he surely deserves.

Nicotero has a new project in the works, a Night of the Living Dead “making of” film. He is partnering with Jimmy Miller to highlight the greatness of George Romero’s cult classic film.
