On October 2, The Walking Dead will return with the first episode of the last eight of the series. Our survivors are ready for the fight of their lives as all of their communities are under the control of Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton) and the Commonwealth. What will be their next move?

In the latest teaser for season 11 part 3, several of the main characters have lots to say about the current situations they find themselves in.

Eugene: Do you think people are born brave? Or do they become it?

Negan: This ain’t living. It’s surviving at best.

Maggie: We’re gonna make it right. Together.

Ezekiel: All I see are ghosts of what was.

Carol: Maybe that’s a good thing.

Daryl: The danger wasn’t from out there. It was from in here.

Our survivors have been scattered to handle different situations, but now it appears that coming together will be the theme for the last eight episodes. Aaron (Ross Marquand) stayed at Alexandria in a last-ditch effort to save the community he helped build. Maggie (Lauren Cohan) couldn’t bear to follow Hornsby back to the Commonwealth and instead took her group to Hilltop to make their way in that community.

Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) took off and found a new community, Riverside, where he met someone new, married, and is now expecting a child. This group has made enemies of the Commonwealth.

Carol (Melissa McBride), Ezekiel (Khary Payton), Daryl (Norman Reedus), Gabriel (Seth Gilliam), Rosita (Christian Serratos), and many others made their way to the Commonwealth, believing once Alexandra was repaired, they could return.

But, as with any place that looks too good to be true, the Commonwealth turned out to be a lot of smoke and mirrors covering up an underbelly ripe with underhanded goings on.

Connie (Lauren Ridloff) and her group have uncovered unsavory actions of the powerful Milton family and circulated a rogue publication notifying the residents. According to the latest synopsis for the last episodes, this plan has put many people at risk.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC on October 2 at 9 p.m. with season 11, episode 17. On this same date, AMC+ will release episodes 17 and 18, with subsequent episodes airing one week early.
