Alicia Witt has been cast in a new Lifetime Ripped from the Headline Movie The Disappearance of Cari Farver. Witt is known in The Walking Dead universe for her portrayal of Paula during season 6. She is well known for her roles in Dune (1984), Ally McBeal, Two Weeks Notice, Vanilla Sky, Last Holiday, and  Orange is the New Black.

Her latest project, The Disappearance of Cari Farver, is based on a true story that focuses on the best-selling true-crime novel, A Tangled Web, by Leslie Rule. The film is by executive producers Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos as part of their partnership with Lifetime under their Milojo Productions banner.

Witt will star alongside Lea Thompson, Zach Gilford, Rebecca Amzallag, and Lauren Cochrane.

The story follows Dave (Gilford), who begins receiving demanding texts from his new girlfriend, Cari (Amzallag). When he breaks off the relationship, Cari disappears, but the texts continue becoming “twisted. messages.” When Dave’s ex-girlfriend Liz (Witt) begins to receive disturbing texts from Cari, things become dangerous for her and Dave. When Nancy (Thompson), Cari’s mother, begins the search for her daughter, she pressures law enforcement in the hunt until they discover something that shocks them all.

The Disappearance of Cari Farver premieres on Lifetime on Saturday, October 8 at 8 p.m. ET.

Alicia Witt

Witt recently celebrated the completion of chemo treatments for her cancer diagnosis. She began the treatments around the time her parents died, adding to the emotional strain of that loss. She kept her diagnosis private, waiting until after her mastectomy and the doctor’s cancer-free diagnosis to announce her journey publicly.

She shared the information on social media with a shout-out to her “tiny crew of human angels” who stood by her side. She also shared a video ringing the bell significant the end of her treatments.

During the announcement, she also stated she would receive immunotherapies until the end of this year. Our best wishes to Witt that things are progressing for continued healthy reports.
