Tales of the Walking Dead images – Alpha’s return

Tales of the Walking Dead returns to AMC on Sunday, August 28 at 9 p.m., with its third episode, and brings with it the return of a formidable villain, Alpha. Samantha Morton makes her return to The Walking Dead universe in the episode titled “Dee.” This was the name Alpha previously used before she became the leader of the Whisperers.

The episode was written by showrunner Channing Powell and Scott M. Gomple and was directed by Michael E.Satrazemis, who also directed Tales of TWD’s reality twisting episode 2 “Blair/Gina.” 

It is an outstanding episode that focuses on Alpha/Dee and a young Lydia, a role reprisal by Scarlett Blum, at a time when they took refuge with a group living on a river boat. Dee is protective of her daughter and keeps a watchful eye as she doesn’t seem to trust many on board the boat, keeping her as an outsider.

This episode reveals more when viewers think they know everything about Alpha. During interviews, Morton remarked that everything seen in Alpha’s past has been from Lydia’s perspective. Children don’t always remember things and how they actually happened, and this episode shines a light on whether or not Lydia’s memories were accurate.

Tales of the Walking Dead – Dee

Morton has remarked in interviews that she was shocked by this new chapter in Alpha’s story when she first read the script. It sheds more light on the character fans know from the main series and does it in such a way as to shock viewers.

Tales of the Walking Dead is a series that many fans of TWDU have longed for. A series featuring more stories of characters, new and old, to see how others have handled the apocalypse. This series takes place in different parts of the country, which is also something new.
