Exciting news for Walking Dead fans! The Walking Dead will make a final appearance at this year’s New York Comic Con in-person event held on October 6-9 at the Javits Center. Cast members and creators of The Walking Dead will join in a panel on the main event stage on October 8 to discuss the last episodes of the long-running series.

The Walking Dead will begin airing the final eight episodes on October 2, with the series finale airing on AMC on November 20. It is a bittersweet time within the fandom as the flagship series is ending, but there is much more to look forward to with the upcoming spinoff series.

The announcement for NYCC is exciting, as most fans assumed TWD would bow out of this event since the series is ending. The list of panelists has yet to be announced, but tickets are available now via the NYCC site. If you can’t attend in person, a virtual option includes digital access for all four days of the show.

This year’s San Diego Comic-Con featured the major announcement of the Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) spinoff. Will NYCC include any new announcements? Let’s hope so!

The Walking Dead – final season

According to the trailer, the last eight episodes of the series looks to be full of action, as our survivors come together to take down the new big bad, the Commonwealth.

The synopsis for the first two episodes detailed events of Daryl and Negan heading to the Commonwealth, Pamela Milton dealing with the backlash of her son Sebastian’s crimes, and Mercer and Rosita fighting a swarm. Carol also makes a deal with Milton to save her friends from punishment, while  Aaron, Jerry, Lydia and Elijah head to Oceanside. Amidst all of this, the Commonwealth still finds a way to celebrate Founders Day.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC for season 11, part 3, on October 2 at 9 p.m. ET. AMC+ will premiere the first two episodes of part 3 on this same date.
