Thomas Francis Murphy portrayed Brion in The Walking Dead series during seasons 7 and 8. He was one of Jadis’ (Pollyanna McIntosh) right hands in her group known as the Scavengers. During season 8, Brion, one of Jadis’ most loyal companions, is killed by Simon (Steven Ogg). Murphy has had many memorable roles during his career; next, fans will see him in the Netflix movie Mr. Harrigan’s Phone.
The film is written and directed by John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side) and produced by Blumhouse Productions and Ryan Murphy. Mr. Harrigan’s Phone is based on a story by Stephen King featured in his 2020 four-novella collection If It Bleeds.
The story follows a young man, Craig ( Jaeden Martell), who lives in a small town and forms a bond with a reclusive billionaire named Mr. Harrigan (Donald Sutherland). When Mr. Harrigan passes away, Netflix assures us this isn’t a spoiler; Craig can communicate with his dead friend via phone, hence the film’s name. But, the rest must be seen to be believed.
In addition to Murphy, Martell and Southerland, the film also stars Kirby Howell Baptiste, Joe Tippett and Cyrus Arnold.
Mr. Harrington’s Phone releases on Netflix on October 5.
