Happy Walking Dead premiere weekend! At long last, the final eight episodes will premiere on AMC this Sunday, October 2, at 9:00 p.m. AMC+ will premiere the first two episodes on the same date. Fans are gearing up for what’s to come, anxious to see who will make it out alive as the story comes to a close.
The first episode is titled “LockDown,” and the synopsis tells us things will pick up soon after the events in the midseason finale. Hornsby has control of Alexandria, Hilltop and Oceanside, and he is hot the trail of Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Daryl (Norman Reedus), as seen in the first minutes of the episode.

- This week, Norman Reedus (Daryl on TWD) received his star on the Hollywood Walking of Fame.
- Austin Abrams (Ron on TWD) stars in a Netflix original movie, Do Revenge.
- Walking Dead cast members will attend PaleyFest NY. The list includes Norman Reedus, Paola Lázaro, Scott M. Gimple, Greg Nicotero, Lauren Cohan, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Michael James Shaw and Eleanor Matsuura.
- Several TWD Family members star in features being released as part of the Netflix & Chills lineup.
- Garret Dillahunt (John Dorie on Fear TWD) stars in the Netflix original film Blonde.
- Michael Cudlitz (Abraham on TWD) and Annet Mahendru (Huck in TWD World Beyond) star in the Manifest West trailer.
- Tom Payne (Jesus on TWD) has been cast in Kevin Costner’s new western, Horizon. Which also stars TWD alum Michael Rooker (Merle).
- Talking Dead returns this week with special guests Walking Dead director and SFX guru Greg Nicotero, Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon, and super fan Yvette Nicole Brown.
