Does The Walking Dead come on tonight?
By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead is in its final season, and fans are anxious for its return to AMC. Only eight episodes remain in the long-running series, and it brings bittersweet emotions in the fandom. The final episode of the series will air on November 20, and it will be a celebration of a series that has run for 12 years and created the amazing TWD Family. Is there a new episode tonight?
YES! Tonight, Sunday, October 2, at 9 p.m. The Walking Dead returns with season 11, episode 17, “Lockdown.” AMC+ subscribers can watch episodes 17 & 18 on this same date. Please be mindful of those who can’t watch early, and please don’t post spoilers.
“Lockdown” looks like it will be action-packed throughout, picking up where the midseason finale left off. Hornsby isn’t going to take Daryl (Norman Reedus), Aaron (Ross Marquand), Maggie (Lauren Cohan), and Gabriel’s (Seth Gilliam) rebellion lightly.
The Walking Dead season 11, part 3
The synopsis for this episode reveals that Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Daryl will head to the Commonwealth. This will be Negan’s first introduction to the community. Can you imagine his assessment interview? But I doubt Negan will go through the vetting process. He will likely come in the back door.
Governor Milton (Laila Robins) will be in hot water with the residents as Connie (Lauren Ridloff) and her group have published her son Sebastian’s (Teo Rapp-Olsson) crimes. The residents are demanding justice.
This episode will also see Rosita (Christian Serratos), a Commonwealth soldier, aide Mercer (Michael James Shaw) fight a swarm of variant walkers headed towards the Commonwealth.
This episode is written by Julia Ruchman and directed by Greg Nicotero. Ruchman has written several episodes in seasons 10 and 11’s “Promises Broken.” Nicotero is a director and SFX master who has been with the series since before it was greenlit.
Don’t miss the return of The Walking Dead tonight!
